It is an overall and comprehensive description of the development of the Chinese history studies since the Reform and Opening up. It also explored the outlook and development tendency from now on. The 22 articles included in the book, except the comprehensive review by Mr. Zhang Haipeng, are introductory reviews of the branch areas in historical studies and research therein. Such an arrangement is under the consideration that historical sciences cover a wide range of subjects with multiple branches. In all, it presents a full view of the development of China's historiography within the thirty years.
