《话语标记语的社会语用研究/中国当代语言学文库》采用语料库与角色扮演相结合的方法，系统描述话语标记语在宏观和微观社会语境中的分布和语用特点，同时验证不同变量对于话语标记语的影响范围和程度。宏观社会因素涉及年龄、性别和社会阶层等，而微观社会因素考察与话语密切相关的话语场景、权力关系等。在这些因素影响下，看似随意的话语标记语具有语用多功能性、句法灵活性、社会多纬度性和文化身份性，这些特点既能构建话语连贯、使交流自然顺畅，也能造成话语脱节、令人反感等截然相反的两种倾向。从社会语用的角度，采用逐一提取的语料库方法，为变异语用学提供了新的视角和前景。
