《阅读教程/英语诗歌新思路英语专业系列教材》按照诗歌基本要素和主题编写,涵盖代表性诗人几十位、诗歌140余首,融合阅读理解技能训练。内容丰富,贴近学生,适合英语诗歌初学者学习。
在我国,很多人认为英语专业学习的目的就是要把英语学好。
这个认识看似天经地义,却存在着巨大的误区,因为它将英语专业等同于为期四年的英语培训班,等同于英语国家高校的语言中心。
在我国特定的外语学习环境中,学好英语无疑是英语专业学生的重要任务,但并不是英语专业教育的全部。英语专业学生应该获得本专业独特的能力、知识和素质。因此,过硬的英语语言基本功,扎实的英语听说读写译语言技能,良好的中外跨文化沟通能力,系统的英语语言、英语文学、英语国家区域知识,以及丰富的人文知识,宽阔的国际视野,多维的思维视角,贯通中西的文化,良好的人文素养,这些无疑都是英语专业教育不可忽视的内容。
但是由于多方面的原因,我国的英语专业教学机械的语言训练过多,专业内容教学不足,语言与内容教学割裂,进而导致了学生知识面偏窄、知识结构不够完整、思辨能力偏弱、综合素质发展不充分等问题。
为了消除上述问题,大连外国语大学英语专业积极倡导内容与语言融合教学的理念,大力推进以专业内容为依托的教学,在教学中同时关注内容和语言,把内容教学和语言教学有机结合起来,以英语为媒介,系统教授专业内容;以专业内容为依托,让学生在使用语言的过程中提高语言技能和思辨能力、扩展知识面、提升综合素质。
经过十年的实践和探索,内容依托教学改革取得了鼓舞人心的结果。英语专业教学中系统地融入了主要英语国家的社会文化、欧洲文化、中国文化、跨文化交际、《圣经》与文化、希腊罗马神话、西方思想经典内容,开设了英语短篇小说、英语长篇小说、英语散文、英语诗歌、英语戏剧等课程。英语专业教育在语言教学、知识拓展、能力提高、素质提升方面取得了突出的效果。探索中取得的成果获得了省级和国家级教学成果奖、省级和国家级规划教材奖。
《阅读教程:英语诗歌》是针对英语诗歌初学者开发的教材,是英语专业内容与语言融合课程体系改革成果的组成部分。
对于很多人而言,英语诗歌的难度很大。现有的英语诗歌教材多适用于高水平的学习者,起点较高,对于普通学习者有一定难度。另有一些教材过于复杂,提供了大量文学术语的详细解释,对术语的讲解胜过对诗歌的赏析,很容易让学生失去兴趣。本教材诞生于英语诗歌教学实践,经过近十年的使用、改进、提高,教材不仅内容丰富,而且通俗易懂,适合英语诗歌初学者学习。
