《新标准高职实用英语综合教程》共两册，每册八个单元，每个单元设置一个主题（theme），包含同一主题的课文两篇。每个单元由四个部分组成：
　　Section Ⅰ Listening and Speaking：与主题相关的听说活动
　　Section Ⅱ Reading：与主题相关的课文两篇（Text A & Text B）
　　Section Ⅲ Skills Development：构词法（Word Formation）和专项语法（Grammar）
　　Section Ⅳ Writing：英语记叙文、描写文、说明文、议论文及应用文写作操练
　　每个单元的四个部分组成一个有机的整体，旨在指导学生在深入学习课文的基础上，从词句、语篇等角度进行听、说、读、写、译多方面的语言操练，着重培养学生的英语语言能力和综合应用能力，使他们在适应职业岗位需求的同时，在今后学习、工作和社会交往中能用英语有效地进行口头和书面的信息交流。
