笔者认为，“工学结合”的本质必须通过教育与企业、与社会需求的紧密结合得以实现。高等职业教育应该以培养面向基层、面向服务和管理第一线需要的高等应用型人才为目标，以技术应用为主、以岗位能力教学为核心。教学内容的选取和教材的建设更应强调实用性、针对性，有效处理好近期就业“必须够用”和未来可持续发展的关系。《工学结合新思维高职高专财经类“十二五”规划教材：物流英语》教材的宗旨就是以服务物流企业为出发点、以学生就业为导向、以提高学生职业素养和岗位技能为目的，以物流企业工作流程为学习情境，将物流领域的核心知识、应用英语与岗位技能的培养融会贯通、深度结合，旨在满足高职高专物流管理专业学生对专业英语系统学习、训练、提高的实际需要，很好地体现了现代高职教育的本质特征。
