《博雅英语》1-4册是大学英语立体化网络化系列教材，真正融合听说读写译，体现并引领全国大学英语教材改革的发展方向。 在课程改革不断深化的新阶段，本套教材按照立德树人的根本任务要求，有机融入社会主义核心价值观，注重弘扬中华民族优秀传统文化，发挥教材在引导教师转变教学观念、调整教学方式等方面的功能和作用。 教材将人文素养与科技素养结合，中西文化中的经典与时代相结合，文化素养和科技素养中体现社会主义价值观的部分。将应用性和人文性相结合，将语言技能的提高与学习人文艺术科学素养相结合，既能体现出语言性的技能，同时又能将人文艺术科学素养的内容与其结合，还能传播中国文化，体现社会主义核心价值观的概念。将听说读写译的理念融合在一起，强调学以致用，提高学生的英语技能和文化素养。 本次修订除了替换个别文章，保持经典阅读的理念不变，更重要的是本套教材更立体，更多维，通过几年的教材使用，拓展了更多的主题相关的音频、视频、课件、慕课，使得这套教材内容更丰富，形式更多样，更加有利于教师的课堂教学。

李淑静，北京大学外国语学院党委书记、英语系副主任， 2013-2017年及2018-2022年教育部高等学校大学外语教学指导委员会委员，全国高等院校研究生英语教学研究会副会长，北京市高教学会研究生英语教学研究分会副理事长，北京市大学生英语演讲大赛专家委员会委员。长期从事研究生英语、大学英语教学，曾讲授《研究生英语听说》、《研究生英语读写》、《研究生英语报刊选读》、《国际交流英语视听说》、《大学英语综合课程》、《英美报刊选读》、《博雅英语阅读》等课程，主编《世界文化之旅》（高等教育出版社，2017/3），《博雅英语》（北京大学出版社，2015/9）,《国际交流英语视听说》（外语教学与研究出版社，2013/8），《专业硕士研究生英语》（北京大学出版社，2007/3），《专业硕士研究生英语自学手册》（北京大学出版社，2008/2）等教材。
