以《2013年高考英语新课标考试说明》为例，请看高考英语书面表达评分细则：
一、各档次的给分范围和要求
（一）第五档 (很好)：(21～25分)
1.完全完成了试题规定的任务。

二、本题总分为25分，按五个档次给分。
三、评分时，先根据文章的内容和语言初步确定其所属档次，然后以该档次的要求来衡量，确定或调整档次，最后给分。
四、词数少于 80和多于 120的，从总分中减去2分。
五、评分时，应注意的主要内容为：内容要点、应用词汇和语法结构的数量和准确性、上下文的连贯性。

依据高考英语书面表达评分细则，是否“有效地使用了语句间的连接成分,使全文结构紧凑”是衡量一篇书面表达的重要标准之一。语句间的连接成分包括过渡性词语、过渡句等。过渡词犹如“桥梁”和“黏合剂”，在叙述和论述过程中，恰当地使用过渡词可避免结构松散，层次不明，表意不清等弊端，使文章条理清楚，文字连贯流畅。使用语句间的连接成分可使语言的连贯性得以实现，从而使文章过渡自然、结构严谨、富于逻辑、更具说服力。
